Stopped at Foxwoods on my way back from AT-LARGE.

They had just opened their new non-smoking casino (in the area where the
old poker room used to be, and underneath the area where the new poker room
and high-stakes BJ pit is now).

It's a reasonably nice area; lots of slots, maybe 15-20 BJ and other table
games tables. All 8-deck BJ, all lower limit (but this was Monday afternoon).
The old poker room part was smoke-free, but as I walked towards the back
I could detect traces of smoke wafting down from upstairs. (A big open
stairwell connects the new poker room / BJ pit area with the downstairs).

They also have a new restaurant down there, a Bistro.

One of the most bizarre deadlocks I have ever seen occurred in the poker
room. When I arrived there about 1:00 PM there were about 25 names on the
10-20 Texas Hold 'em list and no game. The floor person explained to me
that if he started a 10-20 TH game, the 10-20 Omaha H/L game would break
because five of the people in that game were first up on the TH list.

Over the course of 4 1/2 hours, this deadlock continued. The 10-20 TH list
got up to 35+ names!

Finally, when the night shift pit boss arrived they decided to call down
a game, at 5:30 PM. By this time a few of the hold 'em players in the
Omaha game had gone home, so the game didn't break.

In other news, someone mentioned at my $5-$10 TH table that they had gotten
a no-limit game down Friday evening. I inquired as to the blind structure,
etc ($2,$3,$5; $7/half-hour time), and someone else chirped up that he
would play no-limit. I said I'd play too. After some convincing the
powers-that-be agreed to start a list.

Of course, they didn't write the list up on their whiteboard, they just
kept it on paper... Until I went over and suggested that it was unlikely
that someone would sign up for the game unless they saw it listed on
the whiteboard.

Anyway, about 4:45 we got about 6 people on the list, we agreed to start
playing, they called the game down, and the game filled right up!

We decided to have the blinds be $5 and $5, to avoid having to deal with
$1 chips. I played until 6:30, when I had to go. Won about $100.
