Well here's the thing ... so far as I know, ALL dealers in AC are encouraged
to use that grip, simply because it is the best method for controlling a
deck. True, it's the way you hold the cards to cheat. It's also the way
you make sure you don't lose control of a deck, that even if the cut card
should slip no one will see the bottom card etc. I personally deal like
that all the time, because we don't use cut cards and it's the best way to
make sure that the bottom card isn't flashed.

Of course you weren't accusing anyone of cheating, but you SHOULD know that
it's the RIGHT way to hold a deck, not just the way you hold it to cheat.
At least, that's what I've been told. And it seems perfectly sensible to me.
